Manufacturing Commodity Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Commodity Engineer to join our automotive manufacturing company based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the manufacturing process for assigned commodities. This includes cost reduction, quality improvement, and on-time delivery performance.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with commodity suppliers to ensure that they are meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets
Develop and implement commodity-specific manufacturing strategies that align with the overall business objectives
Evaluate and improve the manufacturing processes, including tooling, equipment, and material selection
Manage the introduction of new commodities and suppliers to ensure that they meet our quality standards and production requirements
Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet cost targets
Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure long-term reliability and quality



Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field
Experience in manufacturing or engineering roles within the automotive industry
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
Experience with commodity management, including supplier selection and evaluation
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

As a senior CAE engineer, you will be responsible to perform road noise simulations, i.e complete vehicle simulations, vibration and noise transfer function and root cause analysis in our car programs, develop our simulation models and methods and participate in requirement setting and writing design guidelines.
You will implement NVH CAE analysis for complete vehicle simulations and work closely with a design team to adjust the design accordingly. You will also be given the opportunity to participate in the development of improved/new methods to be implemented at the workplace, regarding both hardware and software.
As a person, we see that you are a team player with an analytical mindset that has no problem communicating with other colleagues and stakeholders. We also see that you are customer focused and result oriented. Due to the dynamic nature of the workplace and its constant expansion, there may be a demand for a project lead role, so leadership skills is a bonus attribute to possess.
We often work in a cross-functional teams both internally and externally
Required qualifications:
MSc in Vehicle Dynamics or similar.
Experience in structural dynamics.
Documented CAE work and knowledge.
Knowledge in Ansa, Matlab, Python, Nastran, Hyperworks and Adams.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.



Merits:
Drivers License B.
Speaking/understanding the Swedish language.
CAD programs such as CATIA V5.
Have a general understanding of code/programming.

Description
In the role as a Specialist in Sound and Vibration you will have tasks such as:
- Performing analysis, measurements and reporting in a variety of projects; focusing on acoustic- and vibration testing in product development.
- Assignments in a broad variety of industries, both in-house- and consultant-on-site projects.
- Participate in research projects.

Requirements
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Sound and Vibration, or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively use analytical and experimental tools to find practical solutions to problems in applied acoustics.
- Experience of general sound and vibration measurements, signal processing, modal analysis, numerical modelling and basic analytical modelling.
- Ability to produce well written and relevant test reports in English and to keep project deadline.
- Driving license

This role requires an analytical approach as well as a particular aptitude for hands-on trouble-shooting engineering, and has a flexible time schedule; assignments might involve domestic- and international travel. You should be passionate about developing your skills as an engineer and to share this knowledge within a group.
