We are looking for our next Project Manager in the EMEIA region. In this role you will have the opportunity to aim high in managing multidiscipline capex projects and enabling your (dual) career development, both in the function and within the line organization. Joining the Project Management team, you are part of an ambitious, diverse and focused team with project managers based in Arnhem - The Netherlands, Bohus and Stockvik - Sweden. You will manage and lead large and complex multidisciplinary projects in parallel, involving our regional Engineering, Procurement, Construction management (EPCm) partner and construction sub-contracts. In our organization you will bring your talent and skillset to the next level, aiding in continuously improving Nouryon’s capex project management excellence You’ll have the opportunity to utilize your competences to guide site-CAPEX-managers, as they do define and update their CAPEX portfolio plan on a yearly basis.
Main responsibilities
Operation owner -Project Management- responsibility for the project throughout all phases, Front-End-Loading, through detail design to construction, commissioning and start up
Managing stakeholders and synergies to other projects and businesses
Delivering best in class capex projects, safe within defined scope, schedule, budget and dedicated quality
Providing transparent reporting with predictability and forecasting, analysis and mitigation planning to the project Steering Committee and functional management
Lead the multifunctional project team with owners’ functional experts and the EPCm project leads
Apply and adhere to Nouryon’s Project Management (NPM) stage gate methodology
Provide input for the project’s Appropriation Request (AR) and sign off for execution
Ensure compliance to company directives
Manage project close out, assessment of lessons learned, project documentation and hand-over to operations
In the Initiation and Study Phase (FEL-1 and FEL-2) project manager’s responsibility is in the consultant role and ensures endorsement and approval of the handed over engineering package by the business/site representative
Qualifications
Bachelor, Master or PHD level qualification in preferably mechanical/chemical engineering or related disciplines.
Relevant content experience in different multiple units of chemical plants, disciplines, locations (cultures – international environment) and/or other companies
More than 10 years of experience in a managerial position
Proven project management skills for capital investments of up to 50 Mio Euro
Leadership skills by showing “presence in the room”
Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through on commitments
Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards
Able to work in an inclusive way in the engineering community to make sure the business experiences ‘one voice’ and the project team’s collective objectives are met
Excellent interpersonal skills, influencing, persuading, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving
Good structured and analytical skills
Good communication and presentation skills in English both verbal and written
Open to innovation, change and ability to work in a flexible work environment
Able to impart knowledge and learn quickly
Team player, contributes to project team’s ability to reach maximum performance
Ability to travel for about 6 to 8 weeks annually in the Nordic area
Communication skills in English both verbal and written, convincing presentation skills

Additional information
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Manager Project Management. Location: Bohus and in March 2022 the location will change to Gothenburg.
